Every once in a while, I get to capture a wedding for a couple that I don’t meet until the day of their wedding. Usually, I get to meet them beforehand with an engagement session or at their final meeting, but when they live in Texas and are having their wedding in Petoskey, MI, traveling for a meeting is a little out of the question. So I got to meet Stephanie and David on the day of the wedding, which was a couple Saturdays ago. And let me just tell you, I felt like I had known them for years!! They were absolutely wonderful and their wedding day was so much fun!
All week I was watching the weather. June is tricky in Michigan, well, let’s be honest, any day in Michigan is tricky when trying to predict the weather. But earlier in the week I saw 86 with a 100% chance of thunderstorms in the morning, afternoon and potentially the evening. Needless to say, I was sweating and did a lot of extra praying for good weather. As each day passed and Saturday got closer, the weather fluctuated, but had thunderstorms in every forecast right around the time we were supposed to take outdoor pictures. So Saturday came and… it was perfect!! Well, a little warm and humid, but overcast and no rain until the evening when we were inside for the reception. What an answer to prayers!
So, great weather, an outdoor ceremony just feet away from the bay in Petoskey, Michigan and one of the cutest couples ever… Can my job get any easier!? It was such a wonderful, wonderful day and I feel so blessed to now know Stephanie, David and their family and friends. Their wedding day was filled with laughter, smiles, toasts, dancing, cherished family, lots of friends, a special performance from a traveling singing group, an aunt’s birthday and so so much love for one another. Thank you Stephanie and David for letting me part of your amazing day!!!
