I am beyond thrilled to be able to post these previews from Katie and Derrick’s beautiful wedding up north! When I think back to their wedding day last month, this is what comes to mind: blue skies, glistening sun, close friends, lots of laughter, a girl & her boat, tears of joy, awesome socks, “kite” pictures, trolley rides, a tent reception on the bay, 11 person band, moves on the dance floor, and a gorgeous michigan sunset. It was such a perfect day.

Katie and Derrick were so much fun to be around and celebrated their perfect day with family and friends who traveled from all over to be there for them. There were so many special moments throughout the day too. Katie, without hesitation, caught her parent’s boat off the dock in her wedding dress, climbed in like it was nothing, and took a stroll around the lake with her dad. Priceless. A moment photographers dream about. I watched Derrick cry tears of joy as he saw his bride for the first time walking down the aisle. We visited the Charlevoix marina and lighthouse on the beach, then traveled to Petoskey for dinner and dancing. I heard beautiful words of encouragement, love and fond memories from their priest, the father of the bride, the matron of honor and best man. Sam, Katie’s brother, played the electric guitar during the bride and groom’s first dance and even had a pretty sweet solo in there. And then they all danced the night away until the sun slowly set over the Petoskey bay.

Like I said, perfect day. Take a look…
